Facts & figures of LANCOM Systems (today Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity)
LANCOM Systems was formed in 2002 as a management buyout from the former ELSA AG and continued the products and brands of the former ELSA department “Communication Systems” (professional data communications). Since then, LANCOM Systems has been writing its very own success story. The management is in the hands of Constantin von Reden and Robert Mallinson.
Today, around 400 employees contribute to the company's success at its headquarters in Würselen near Aachen, in Munich, and at other locations across Europe. LANCOM is the leading European manufacturer of network infrastructure solutions for businesses and the public sector. The millions of LANCOM Systems products in operation around the world are confirmation of customer trust and satisfaction.
Marketing is exclusively indirect, with more than 7,500 distribution partners in Germany, Europe and increasingly around the world. These partners also make up the growing service network. Customers include small and medium-sized enterprises, government agencies, institutions, and major corporations from Germany, Europe and increasingly worldwide.

For Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity, the protection of our company, our customers and our sensitive data is a central concern. Every Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity employee comes into contact with sensitive data in their day-to-day work. Protecting this data is therefore an essential task for every individual at Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity.
The Information Security Management System (ISMS) regulates our information security procedures. We strengthen information security in our company by introducing guidelines and standards and establishing corresponding processes. In concrete terms, this means that we implement and monitor continuous measures to constantly improve our information security. Our ISMS is based on the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 standard, which defines the framework for the development and implementation of an effective management system.
Directives, guidelines, and standards are a central element of our ISMS. These include the procedure for dealing with (potential) security incidents, strict password requirements, detailed information classification, and the Clean Desk & Clean Screen guidelines. These measures ensure that sensitive information is always protected and security incidents are handled quickly and effectively.
When creating our processes, we ensured close integration with our parent company Rohde & Schwarz. We worked closely together, particularly in the areas of global corporate security directives and corporate standards. This collaboration has led to the creation of the Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity Information Security Policy for Employees and the supplementary IT Security Policy.
Our current scope of the ISMS includes the R&S®LANCOM Management Cloud as well as the Service & Support processes to ensure a comprehensive security architecture. This not only secures our internal processes, but also the cooperation with our customers and partners.
