New R&S®LANCOM Advanced VPN Client and LANCOM Management Software
Aachen, 22 February, 2007 - Version 2.0 of the R&S®LANCOM Advanced VPN Client is LANCOM's first VPN software client for Microsoft Windows Vista™. This Vista client unites all of the familiar security and communications functions in a single user interface. These functions include the personal firewall, IPSec VPN, support for UMTS and HSDPA cards, and wireless LAN support.
In supporting a multitude of Internet access options, the R&S®LANCOM Advanced VPN Client provides secured access to company data from any location and at any time. Additional functions include the 0900-dialer protection and various start-up and configuration options that allow the client to be integrated directly into the Windows login. All this makes the R&S®LANCOM Advanced VPN Client an ideal companion for telecommuters and on business trips.
In addition to Vista, the R&S®LANCOM Advanced VPN Client also supports the operating systems Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This allows terminal equipment with different Windows operating systems to be set up with uniform configurations.
In most cases migrating to the new Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system requires updates to drivers and software. For this reason LANCOM now presents the new Version 6.30 of the LANCOM Management Software LANconfig, LANmonitor and WLANmonitor ready for download. These programs can be used without limitation with all versions of Windows Vista™.
